Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
If I dictate a report at 4pm, how can I be sure it will be returned the following morning?
If you require a report urgently, you can tag it as priority (using the 6 function on your phone keypad; or following vendor instructions on your handheld), and we handle it as a STAT job, returning it to you swiftly. If you routinely require rapid turnaround i.e. less than 24-hours, for radiology or similar specialties, utilizing our offshore medical transcription pool takes advantage of time differences between the United States and other countries. This ensures increased capacity so that your turnaround is fast and always reliable and dependable.
How secure is your service from a technological standpoint?
Our state-of-the-art system provides you with the most secure interface and distribution system. See our HIPAA compliance section for more details on how we ensure you, and your patients, privacy and peace of mind.
I have concerns about patient confidentiality when it comes to outsourcing offshore. How can you assure me that your company is different?
There has been extensive media coverage of the dangers of off-shore medical transcription and sub-contracting. Clients are assured that this is certainly not the case with MD to MD, LLC. The off-shore medical transcriptionists are retained by the company to whom we contract. They are all highly experienced and perform their duties under supervision. They have all signed comprehensive contracts with the agency, encompassing the confidential nature of their work. MD to MD Medical Transcription does not subcontract any work to unknown agencies. The risk of any one of our off-shore medical transcriptionist releasing confidential information on the Internet is no greater than the risk of our US-based medical transcriptionists doing the same, and would expose them to extensive court action and subpoena.
I’ve heard that outsourcing is cheap, but the product is poor quality. How does your business differentiate itself?
We personally interview and train our off-shore medical transcriptionists together with their employer, and we work consistently and cooperatively with each medical transcriptionist to constantly improve the quality of their work as an integral part of our company’s daily routine. Each medical transcriptionist focuses on certain dictators and work types, rather than transcribing from a general pool. This allows each medical transcriptionist to become expert in particular work types, and familiar with “their” physicians. Initially, every report is physician-proofed until the medical transcriptionist becomes accustomed to the doctor’s speaking style. After this initial period, reports are proofread by senior medical transcriptionists, and also randomly physician-supervised to maintain high quality. With all this new technology, do we end up paying more?
Despite the old saying, “you get what you pay for,” we aim to keep the per line cost as low as possible. The price of your medical transcription depends on criteria including whether your reports are transcribed off-shore or the US, your volume, and how much of your work is templated rather than dictated free-style. We will work with you to streamline the process. Take advantage of our free trial period, which helps us determine the best price for you.
We like having our reports formatted to our specifications. Can you do this?
Absolutely! Our aim is to produce reports to your liking. We will format reports per your request, and work with you for your special needs, be it letterhead with your particular logo, your signature, or anything else you require.
We have had experiences with medical transcription companies where we can’t reach anyone in the office. This is frustrating!
MD to MD Medical Transcription goes out of its way to allow you easy access to us personally, be it via email, fax, or phone. Consider this one of the major perks of opting for a "family business". We pride ourselves on our accessibility and reliability — see our Testimonials.
